  FRENCH CUISINE - NEW ORLEANS

  French Table
  3216 West Esplanade North
Metairie
Airport area

The French Table is of moderate cost with a capacity of 60 and a luxurious décor. It's a vanguard for local French cuisine and a treat of authentic French sauces. It's the city's best pure French restaurant.A comfortable ambience with impeccable service adds to the charm of the French Table.
Longtime fans of Crozier's, the French Table's predecessor, can still find much of chef Gerard Crozier's classic repertoire in the French table with familiar dishes like escargots bourguignonne, a Gruyère-laden onion soup, and coq au vin.The new chef has created some invigorating classics for the menu.
" A light but pungent sauce with Asian overtones dresses seared scallops; a peppercorn crust and a reduced sauce with red wine adorn the filet mignon; and chocolate mousse shows up alongside a flourless chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream."-Absolutely mouth watering.

With its low key but efficient staff, the French Table cooking matches the cautious home-like decor created around French-provincial cabinets and fabrics.

  Gerard's Downtown
500 St. Charles Avenue (at Poydras)
Neighborhood: Central Business District

Chef Gerard Maras after collecting accolades in important local kitchens like Mr. B's Bistro and Commander's Palace for more than 20 years, has come up with a winner!
He has some of the most eclectic, international dishes to this place.
He picks organically cultivated vegetables from his garden to use in his recipes. The lobster ravioli is awesome and the foie gras simply melts in the mouth. Sauces are whipped with the most fresh ingredients and pastas are made in-house. The whole roasted fish he treats simply, to allow the fresh flavor to shine through, cooking it just to the moment of perfect doneness.

A classy restaurant from a great chef!
